The first ever Hungarian Ballet Grand Prix - Veszprém international ballet competition for children and youth age groups was organised between 26 – 29 June 2023.
The goal of the event was talent management and the establishment of a tradition, as well as promoting ballet teaching and ballet art among a wider circle in Hungary.
Professional head of the competition: Tamás Solymosi, ballet dancer and ballet director.
LOCATION →
Veszprém, European Capital of Culture in 2023, hosts the 4-day event. Venues of the Grand Prix include the modern ballet and theatre studio of ActiCity cultural and leisure centre built partly with this purpose in mind, as well as various community spaces.

An 11-person international jury ensures the highest standards of the qualifiers and competition. Members of the jury are internationally recognized dance artists, masters and committed sponsors from the world of dance, who have shaped Hungarian ballet.

Winners of the 15-18 age groups received EUR 2000 cash Youth Grand Prix, and they were also invited to perform at next year’s gala event.
Winners of the 10-14 age groups received EUR 1000
cash Junior Grand Prix.
The final ranking were based on the performance of the competitors. Results were announced at a special ceremony on the final day of the competition.
